As a child, he developed a passion for cooking, experimenting and nature at an early age. During his school and university career, he gained valuable experience in various restaurants, which spanned a wide spectrum of cooking styles. His first taste of fine cuisine was at the Topolino restaurant in Bled. At the age of 23, he took over the kitchens of four hotels in Bohinj.
However, he found his true mission and passion at the Vila Bled restaurant, where he had the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs Igor Jagodic and Andrej Rovan. He then transferred his knowledge and culinary passion to the Vila Istra restaurant in Bled. This was followed by an adventure in London, where he gained valuable experience at the Michelin-starred Club Gascon and took over the kitchen at The Dock Seafood.
Before heading to Scotland, he temporarily filled in for Chef Martyn Meid at Ink in London. After moving to Scotland, he continued his culinary career at the Rufflets Hotel, but then the opportunity to take over the Milka Pension and Restaurant in Kranjska Gora opened up and he accepted.
In partnership with Nina Bizjak, they ran Milka together from November 2016 until autumn 2020. He was joined in the kitchen by his long-time friend Andrej Rovan, while Jan Dodoša did a superb job in the serving area. At the beginning of 2021, the team moved from Milka to Kranjska Gora, to the Skipass Hotel. There, Miha named the restaurant after his grandmother Marija, with the name "Mama Marija."
In his free time, Miha likes to escape to the forest, where he collects natural delicacies and skillfully incorporates them into his culinary creations.
The menu is created on request, depending on the season and availability of ingredients. The tasting menu is flexible, so the price varies according to the number of courses and the chef's choice of seasonal ingredients.
